Description

Milk oolong tea

This tea has a natural striking milky smell and soft creamy taste. Due to its unique taste, it is widespread and very popular.  It can be infused several times, and the resulting liquid is golden yellow in color.

Milk Oolong (Nǎi Xiāng Wū Lóng Chá, “Milk Fragrance Oolong Tea”) comes from a Taiwanese cultivar called Jīn Xuān (“Golden Lily”).

It is known for its light, creamy, and floral flavor, often described as having a natural milky character. They cultivate Jin Xuan tea at higher altitudes and it is popular in Taiwan, Thailand, and China. Firstly, milky taste of this tea is a natural trait of the cultivar. Producers create a stronger flavor by steaming already “buttery” leaves on milk.

Leaves have the classic rolled shape, and are semi-oxidized. Therefore, colors range from deep dark green, to mossy, to fresher green hues. Once infused, they open and release intense aromas. Some soft vegetal hints, barely noticeable. And also, of course, milky, creamy and buttery sweet notes. That are more striking and stronger. The liquor in the cup is golden, intense and very bright.
